Thomas Sohilait doorliep de vrije academie psychopolis in Den Haag. Daarna volgde hij de Academie voor Fotografie en Audio-Visuele Communicatie in Haarlem. Hij volgde hier de opleiding publiciteitsfotograaf, fotojournalist en sportjournalist. 

Door de jaren heen leverde Sohilait voor diverse uitgevers en vakbladen portretten, nieuwsfoto’s en reportages. Dat was onder andere voor het vakolad De Journalist, het Molukse maandblad Marinjo, voor het Nederlands Centrum Buitenlanders en voor het Algemeen Dagblad.

Daarna is hij als commercieel fotograaf werkzaam geweest. Verder levert hij in zijn huidige woonplaats Woerden fotobijdragen aan de lokale media.

Hij is lid van de DuPho (Dutch Professional Photographers)

Hij is voorzitter van Stichting Masa harapan 

About Thomas Sohilait

Thomas Sohilait attended the Free Academy Psychopolis in The Hague. He then studied at the Academy for Photography and Audio-Visual Communication in Haarlem, where he trained as a publicity photographer, photojournalist, and sports journalist.

Over the years, Sohilait has provided portraits, news photos, and reports for various publishers and professional journals, including De Journalist trade magazine, the Moluccan monthly Marinjo, the Dutch Centre for Foreigners, and the Algemeen Dagblad newspaper.

After that, he worked as a commercial photographer. Currently, from his hometown of Woerden, he contributes photographic work to local media.

He is a member of DuPho (Dutch Professional Photographers).

He is also the chairman of Stichting Masa Harapan.
